Weißseespitze Nordwand, 3518 m

Sunny, sunnier, sunniest 🙂 After weeks of rain and bad weather summer strikes back again… But as I never have enough of winter and skiing, I joined mountaineering guide and buddy Otti Hauer (http://www.skischule-tirol.at/) to hike and ski the Weißseespitze…

Oh man, getting up THAT early… 4 a.m. wake up call… But when there is beautiful weather outside and you know the goals for the day, it’s definetely worth it…

More infos about the tour…: http://www.bergsteigen.at/de/touren.aspx?ID=274

We started around 6.30 a.m., hiked the first meters to the entry of the face until we had to put up the crampons and work our way up the mountain… Equipped with crampons, skis on the back and pick… 50 degrees steepness at some parts of the mountain, so no mistake allowed…

our route: hiking up in red, skiing down in blue...
climbing up...

Got up to the top around 9.30 a.m. and had an amazing view from up there!

wonderful view 🙂
Weißseespitze, 3518m, Tirol's 2nd highest peak...
...looks sooo flat but it wasn't 😉
Today my function was taking pix with Otti's cam... That's my favourite, thxxx to photoshop 😉

Kaunertaler and Ötztaler surroundings...

Another great day on the mountain!!!!

Thxxx to Otti!!!!

…My back and my knee is killing me as hiking up on crampons was hard work and the snow-conditions for skiing down were hard and bumpy (we waited on top of the mountain till 11 a.m. but the snow didn’t soften up…) and this is the worst situation for my knee… But it seems like, that I always learn through pain 😉 …No pain, no gain 😉

Skis are now finally put away in the cellar, waxed and are waiting to be skied again in autumn/winter… Looking already forward!!!! 🙂
