When your working in tourism, you definetely have to be flexible ;-)…My boss told me at 11 p.m. that I would have my day-off already the next day… Well, no problem but where to go? Didn’t want to hang out in the Mattertal, as I’m always in there anyway… So wanted to explore a new area… As I just had a map from Zermatt and surroundings, I decided to drive over to Saastal and go biking there… Good decision…

I haven’t been to Saas Fee before, so that was one reason to go there…
Parked my car in Saas Grund, to start my biketour for the day… It took me a while to find the correct path, as there were so many possibilities to go up there… But biking up a Single Trail is quite impossible, so I decided to bike up the normal way on the street… Spotted out some good downhill possibilities and was already looking forward to go down…
Biked through Saas Fee, a nice little town surrounded by Lenzspitze, Dom, Täschhorn,… some high 4000m peaks…

It was a good decision to go up high, as the temperatures are soooo hot at the moment… and I’m definitely a person who enjoys cool temperatures…

The last third of the tour I had to carry the bike on my shoulders up the hill, up the slope and up some single trail… Hikers were passing by and were quite amazed how I could carry up the bike, as the cable car was running up about 50 m beside… 20 kg’s, includes my bike and my backpack… Tough but was a great feeling up the top – Made it!!!

A woman up at the top asked me what I will do with the bike and I told her I would bike down the hill…
And that was definitely the best part of the tour… The downhill part :-)AWESOME!!! Challenging and technical… I’m getting better and better… 🙂

I LIKE!!!!
So a great day with biking, 4 hours on the bike… In the evening I went with T.M. and Magda, the two Osttirol mountain guides, to Zermatt and had a nice eve there…
