It is a privilege of living in Innsbruck where you have the city, the surrounding mountains and loads of motivated sports people who share the same passion… In terms of freeriding, some of the best riders live here, one of them is Alex Hoffmann… No matter what time of the year, he is always super motivated for the mountains and on those “last days of winter”, I know who to call – thanks Alex 🙂 It’s always a pleasure and great fun riding with you!
Tuesday morning… In my car… Three young, talented, successful riders… Alex, his brother Joi Hoffmann and Michi Trojer… Joi and Michi had their own projects for the day… Alex and me were checking other lines… But before that… A few km’s before the glacier, my car broke down… The tail-pipe didn’t want to stay where it belonged to…
But it turned out to be a good day 🙂
First we hiked up Schaufelspitze…

Steep entry where it’s just advisable to ride when there are absolutely safe snow conditions…And of course it’s ONLY for experts :-)…

Just in time when we got up to the top, I got a call from the ÖAMTC… The mechanic is here… Fixing the car, waiting for me… So a bit in a hurry now ;-)…

Alex had chosen a different, steeper, more narrow colouir… I was waiting for him at the bottom… Watching him riding down… Really coooool 🙂
